How To Find Profitable Clickbank Niche Products
How To Find Profitable Clickbank Niche Products
Finding a profitable Clickbank niche is easy. Your success depends on finding profitable Clickbank niche products. To be profitable, niche markets must have high demand and low supply.
The first thing you need to determine is what market or sub market, called a niche, you want to sell your product in.
You always start with market research. Don’t make the mistake of falling in love with your own product only to find out later there is no market demand for it.
Don’t pick a general broad category like internet marketing. Also don’t pick too narrow a niche. Find one with room to grow by adding more related products.
Brainstorm Possible Clickbank Niche Products
One of the easiest ways to get going is by brainstorming. What things are you most interested in? What are your hobbies? What skills do you have? What are you passionate about? What do you know something about?
Use the http://www.google.com/, or download the Google Toolbar to your browser and type in your long tail keywords and search for more specific niche subsets that may work for you.
Once you have a short list of the best niches, you’re ready to begin your market research.
Again, the best niches to target are the one’s that:
1. You already know something about. You’ll understand it better and you’ll have a greater passion for it that will show through in your marketing.
2. Target implusive buyers. People often buy on impulse because they want it, not because they need it..
3. Smaller niches are easier to dominate, but have less demand, so don’t choose too narrow or too broad niche.
4. Competition is good. It means there’s demand for products in that niche. It also means that there’s potentially a lot of people with lists to form partnerships or JV’s with.
5. Your product(s) must provide a solution to a problem within that niche.
6. Ideally, you want something that has a potential for growth or related niches which you can branch out and market to.
Market Research And Long Tail Keywords
A quick review on the meaning of keywords. Keywords are those words someone enters into a search engine such as Google to find specific information.
Internet marketers use keywords or tags in their web pages to describe their content. Search engines catalog all web pages into databases.
In response to a search, the search engine returns the search results ranked by order of relevance determined by undisclosed algorithms.
In summary, keywords are the primary driving force or means of connecting the information seeker to the information provider on the World Wide Web. For a more complete explanation on the meanings of Internet and WorldWideWeb.
Use long-tail keywords to find your niche
Long-tail keywords are simply three or more words that someone uses in search engines to arrive at your website.
You optimize your website for certain long-tail keywords to make it more targeted or easier for people looking for your niche product can find you.
Some benefits are the following:
1. A long-tail keyword gives you higher conversion rate. When users search for your long tail keywords, they are targeted traffic who are likely to buy from you or just need a little convincing.
2. A long-tail keyword can rank easier. Less competition requires less effort to rank.
3. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone. Since a long-tail keyword contains the general keywords too, in effect, you are also targeting those broad keywords. You may target a long-tail keyword and get ranked number one easily. The bonus is may be you get ranked number two or three for the general keyword.
4. It generates more targeted visitors. Assuming you’ll target more relevant long-tail keywords, you should generate more targeted visitors to your site since you’ll rank well with these keywords.
After you have a list of niche products, you’ll do basic market research to find the one(s) with the highest demand and lowest competition.
Basic Market Research To Find Profitable Clickbank Niche
Again, using Google, search each long tail keyword. The Google search results (gsr) of the long tail keyword without quotations, indicates the total number of webpages the individual words appear on, in any combination, within a webpage and in different sections of the webpage such as the title, url, description, or main body of the content. This is a rough indicator of demand.
Secondly, search with the long tail keyword in quotations (“your long tail keyword”) to determine on how many websites it appears on altogether exactly as “your long tail keyword”. This is the supply in the demand/supply equation or your competition.
This method of finding the Google search results (gsc) for your long tail keywords and then dividing it by the number of websites that actually use that exact long tail keyword is a quick and easy way to quickly determine supply and demand for your niche product represented in the form of long tail keyword.
For example, when I researched independent clickbank reviews for my blog I found the following:
Google search results (gsc) = 167,000
Number of websites with the long tail keyword = 67
167,000 divided by 67 = 2,492
How to Choose the Right Long Tail Keywords Using The Keyword Effectiveness Index Formula (KEI)
One of the best ways to analyze a long tail keyword competition is using is KEI or Keyword Effectiveness Formula.
This is a simple formula to give you an overview of the competition using the data gathered from Google Keyword Tool and Google Search Engine.
It’s the “Daily Google Search Count” (dgsc) squared, divided by “Rank or Google Search Result” (gsr). Google’s Keyword Tool calculates per month, so divide the Google Search Count by 30.
Here’s the formula:
KEI = dgsc*dgsc /gsr
Where do you get the numbers from to calculate the KEI?
Number Of Daily Google Search Count (dgsc)
There are other online tools, but Google is the best one to use. Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
To use it, just type in your keyword phrase and click “Get Keyword Ideas.”
Daily Google Search Count (dgsc) is calculated by dividing the Local Search Volume by 30 because it’s the estimated monthly searches made for that particular keyword.
The Google search results (gsr)
This is the 167,000 Google search results (gsr) I got in the long tail keyword search without the quotations, where the individual words appear in any combination within a webpage and in different sections of the webpage such as the title, url, description, or main body of the content.
Hopefully you get good numbers under “Local (U.S.) Search Volume: Month” column. In my case, it returned “not enough data”.
I decided to go forward with independent clickbank reviews based on:
1. There were other related keywords with high monthly searches that can be used on my website content.
2. The Google searches show a high ratio of keyword usage (167,000) to websites (67) using that long tail keyword.
To show you how the KEI formula works, I’m going to use one of my other long tail keywords from the daily Google search counts (dgsc).
“Clickbank make money” has 6,600 monthly searches divided by 30 = 220
Then you simply take your numbers and plug them into the KEI formula:
KEI = dgsc x dgsc / gsr
KEI = 220 x 220/ 167,000
KEI = 48,400/167,000
KEI = 0.29
Rank or Google Search Result (gsc) is derived from www.google.com website or the Google toolbar. Search your keyword and get the number of the search results at the upper right hand corner.
The higher the KEI the better the long tail keyword.
You calculate the KEI for your list of long tail keywords. The ones with the higher KEI are the better candidate
Though the Keyword Effectiveness Index Formula is a good way to measure the competition, it’s not an exact science.
How To Tell If The Niche Will Be Profitable
Having a good KEI is great, but it doesn’t guarantee the niche is going to be profitable.
Here’s other things we need to check.
First, we want to see if people are actively looking for a solution to a problem. The fastest way to do this is to take a quick peek on related blogs and forums.
Chances are if there’s a problem and you have a high KEI, there are going to be people looking for a solution for it.
Secondly, we need to see if there are any other people selling information products for that niche.
A quick way to check this, is when you search for your long tail keyword in Google, are there any Ad Words ads (the ads above and on the right of the search results) for that long tail keyword? How many are there? Ideally, you want there to be 5 or more so you know it’s not just a fluke.
The reason we’re looking for ads is because most people don’t like to throw away money and if they’re spending it to advertise, chances are they’re turning a profit doing so. This is a great way to test the water before you jump in.
You can also go to eBay and see if there’s anything for sale there or check on Ezine Articles and see if there are articles on that keyword with people promoting products in their signatures.
You can also check out big affiliate networks like ClickBank or PayDotCom to see what, if any products are available. If you’re going to be using affiliate marketing, you want there to be at least several good affiliate programs to choose from, with lots of promotional material and decent commissions.
If there’s no one selling anything, or just a couple of people, it usually means that no one’s buying or not enough people are interested in buying to make it a profitable undertaking. In this case, you’ll need to go back and look at your next niche option.
Last note: and this very important! Do not even consider entering a market niche where there is an authority website occupying the #1 position in the Google search results pages for your keywords.
An authority site is a large content site and is popular. It’s a site Google judges to have the most quality and relevant information for that keyword. It also has a high Google page rank. ClickBank has a page rank of 6.
To check page rank you must have the Google toolbar installed. There’s also a plugin of the Firefox browser. Note: searches for a three word long tail keyword will probably return search results where the top listing has no page rank. This is where you want to compete.

I just came across this article and loved it. Great advice for people looking to get the most out of ClickBank!
Yes, the sales pages are important. Check for leaks that may cost you a commission and how well it may convert a visitor into a buyer.
Also, be sure to take a look at the sales pages for any CB products you are considering. Many of them are terrible!
Finding the perfect niche is pretty tough. If you decide on getting into a niche like cars because you saw a blog/site about cars that was bragging sales, you’re pretty much doomed to fail.
It’s very important to stick by something you specialize in. That’s simply the best one you could ever get into.
Hi Arik and thanks for visting my blog! Yes, that’s another way to look at KEI. Regards, Nick
In fact, the formula says find the long tail keyword with high daily google search count and low google search result.
100 daily searches and 10000 gsr give a KEI of 1
